Journeys are amazing adventures and often times we find ourselves far from the original destination we set sail for. Call it fate, destiny or luck we sometimes drift along on the currents of life looking for a safe harbor. Sometimes we find it and sometimes we do not but without question we always find the next step in our adventure.

Such has been the life of James Burns sometimes the captain of his own ship other times a castaway clinging to the last remaining scraps of his wrecked vessel. For many years he sought his place to fit in to the corporate world or to the mundane everyday life the world dictates to its inhabitants. However with each passing moment of time he realized more and more that the true heart of his passion was creativity, art and music.

From winning first place in the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival at age 8, writing and recording a CD with his band Judea, and touring extensively throughout the Southeast with numerous bands, the creative passion has always been the driving force that has brought James back on course.

The natural extension of that has become photography. With a passion for art and music, writing and painting it only makes sense that James has chosen to focus on music and head shot and promotional photography. He states “The creative minds that produce the unbelievable variety of music and art is astounding and something I have a passion for capturing photographically”. While music and promotional photography is James’ main focus, that doesn’t mean that his photography is limited to that field. James states “photography is much more about people than pictures. If families and individuals are not afraid to explore something more than the traditional poses or studio shots then I want to photograph them”.
